Last year I purchased a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker.I love it. It sits on the countertop and it makes making ice cream a treat.Today I bought fresh peaches and had every intention of making a peach cobbler for dessert. But after thinking about it,and knowing that I had to run two kids to vacation bible school and run by the post office, I decided to make a batch of peach ice cream for the boys .Glad I did.It was rich, creamy and very peaches-and-cream. One of the best homemade ice creams I have made.
Peach Ice Cream
1 1/2-2 cups fresh pureed peaches, peeled and pitted (about 4-6 peaches)
2/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups half-and-half cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1. In food processor, puree peaches.
2. Blend peach puree and all ingredients until very smooth.
3. Chill ice cream mix until cold, about 1-2 hours.
4. Pour mix into your ice cream machine and process according to manufacturer's directions.Makes 1 Qt
