Crockpot Cubed Steaks

I remember my nana making cubed steaks growing up.Definitely one of my favorite meals. I make it the traditional way (stovetop) when I can, but I like it in the crockpot as well.Especially on busy weeknights. There is prep work in that you have to season, dresge and cook the meat before dumping it into the crockpot, but it is worth it. Comfort food. My husband and sons eat this stuff up. I find it to be pretty heavy, so I take a small portion and let the others fight for the last pieces. I serve this with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli or carrots.

Crockpot Cubed Steak
6-8 cubed steak
3/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt and pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp spicy montreal steak seasoning
olive oil
2 envelope brown gravy
1 envelope mushroom gravy
1 envelope onion gravy
3 c water
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 large sweet onion, sliced

Combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and steak seasoning. Dredge the steaks in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.Place steaks in a skillet on medium high heat and cook in olive oil until both sides are browned. PLace steaks in the crockpot.

In a medium bowl, combine the gravy packets, water and worcestershire sauce. Pour over the steaks and place onions on top of the sauce. Cook on low for 4-5 hours. Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

Cubed steaks used to be one of my favorite childhood meals. We don't eat it in my house because my husband refuses to eat it.

Your picture is great. Now I'm craving it!
